TICA vs GCCF Registered Bengal Kittens — What's the Difference?

What is TICA?

TICA — The International Cat Association — is the world's largest registry of pedigree cats. Founded in 1979, TICA is recognised globally and operates a comprehensive registration system that includes strict breed standards, genetic diversity guidelines, and health protocols. TICA has long been considered the premier registration body for Bengal cats internationally.

What is GCCF?

The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) is the UK's principal cat registration body. Established in 1910, GCCF registers a wide range of pedigree cat breeds across the United Kingdom.

Bengal Cats and TICA Registration

Bengal cats have a particularly strong association with TICA registration. TICA recognised the Bengal as an official breed and has developed comprehensive breed standards and registration protocols specifically for Bengals. Bengal Kittens Breeders Home chooses TICA registration to reflect the international quality of our breeding programme.

What Registration Does NOT Guarantee

It is important to understand that registration alone — whether TICA or GCCF — does not guarantee health testing, responsible breeding practices, or quality socialisation. This is why health testing credentials, customer reviews, and transparent breeding practices are equally important when selecting your Bengal kitten.

Our Registration

All Bengal kittens from Bengal Kittens Breeders Home are fully TICA registered. Each kitten leaves us with their full TICA registration papers as standard.
